Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 249 (MUD249) has contracted with Best Trash to send an extra truck (in addition to the normal trash service) to remove bagged and bundled storm debris this Wednesday, July 24. For Best Trash, the bagged debris does not need to be in clear bags; black bags will work.
Best Trash will be picking up bagged storm debris, and small tree limbs that are bundled or otherwise manageable, staged to be collected by their crew without the use of the grapple truck.
On the following Wednesday, July 31, Best Trash will be sending the grapple truck and rear loader to remove larger items. Residents are encouraged to cut the debris to 4-foot lengths to facilitate easier pickup (but it is not required). Place the items (tree and fence debris) at the curb in a pile. Caution: Do not pile the debris on the water meter box as the grapple claw may damage the box and Best Trash is not liable for the damage.
Important Note: These dedicated trucks will only collect storm-related debris on July 24, and tree and fence debris on July 31. All household trash must be separated, away from the storm debris piles. The household trash will be removed by the normal trash service route trucks.
